… the following prisoners are take their trials:— John Tomling, for feloniously stealing a lamb, at Harringworth, the property of John Sculthorpe ; Northampton Mercury, 3 March 1821. At Northampton Assizes last week the prisoners who took their trials were sentenced as follows :— … and John Tombling alias Tomblin, for lamb stealing, … severally received sentence of death, but were afterwards reprieved; .. Stamford Mercury, 16 March 1821.
