Correction to above. Mary's only child was 18 months old, when on board the Caroline. There were other convicts on board with children with them.

Irish Convict Database Mary Topham, age 26, native of Kildare Co. Convicted at Dublin for stealing waistcoats, sentence 7 years. Trade, laundry maid, all work. Married , Mary was the mother of the only child on board the Caroline, aged 18 months. It was reported in the Sydney Gazette, 10 May 1834, that Mary absconded from her employer, Mr Cooper, at Liverpool, on 4 May. Topham Mary, Caroline, 33 171, 27, Kildare, laundry maid, 5 feet 3 ¾, ruddy freckled comp., dark brown hair, chesnut eyes, nose a little crooked, mouth large, from Mr Cooper, Liverpool, since May 4.
