Convict Notes




Thomas Torbold and Robert Stringer were convicted of larceny, and David Torbold, as an accessary; sentences deferred. Bury and Norwich Post, 11 July 1832. At the adjourned Sessions for the Ipswich Division, on Friday last, before the Rev. George Capper, Chairman, ... and Robert Stringer, David Torble and Thos. Torble, for a robbery at Mr. Eade's, at Bacton, were each sentenced to be transported for 14 years. Bury and Norwich Post, 25 July 1832. On Friday last the six following convicts were removed from Ipswich County Gaol, to be put on board the Leviathan Hulk at Portsmouth, viz. Robt. Stringer, Thomas Corbold, and David Corbold, to be transported for 14 years; and Wm. Howard, Samuel Whiting, and John Parker, for 7 years. Bury and Norwich Post, 8 Aug 1832.
