John Tremain, 18, for stealing a pair of trowsers, a pair boots, a pair of half boots, and a bat, the property of Nicholas May, of the parish of St. Austell. A former conviction was proved, in which the prisoner was sentenced to six month’s hard labour. Penzance Gazette, 5 April 1843. Cornwall Lent assizes. John Tremain, second conviction, was found guilty of stealing some wearing apparel from his master, Mr. Nicholas May, of St. Austell-14 year, trans. Western times, 1 April, 1843.
