The following article was published in The Tumut and Adelong Times, 31 Aug 1948. It is a report of the death of one of the children of Nicholas Troy and his wife. Death Of Pioneer Recalls Age-Old Controversy Origin Of "Clancy Of The Overflow" Mrs. Teresa McNamara, widow of the man who, according to one school of thought, was "Clancy of the Overflow," has died at Cloncurry, aged 93. She was also the sister of James Troy, said to be "The Man From Snowy River". For more than 50 years Mrs. McNamara had lived in the Cloncurry district. Her husband, Thomas, died three years ago at the age of 97. The Troys were an old New South Wales pioneering family. … Mrs. Teresa McNamara's parents, Nicholas Troy and Mary McNamara, were married at Tumut in 1844. Of eight children, only surviving member is Catherine (Mrs. M. T. Carberry), of Manly, late of Cootamundra. Nicholas Troysettled on the land at Toolis Creek, Wagga, shortly after his marriage. His eldest daughter, Mrs. Edward Kean, was pioneer of the first Back to Wagga celebrations. His great great grandson was recently ordained to the priesthood at Cootamundra, Rev. Father Edward Lloyd.

Mr. Nicholas Troy, a settler on Kyamba Creek, was accidentally killed on Saturday. He was driving a cart, which was upset by coming into contact with a sapling, and fell upon his neck, his body being under the cart. The Yass Courier, Sat 14 Jan 1860. In the Supreme Court of New South Wales. EGCLESIASTICAL JURISDICTION. In the Goods of Nicholas Troy, late or Kyamba Creek near Wagga Wagga, in the Colony of New South Wales, grazier. Deceased. NOTICE is hereby given, that Mary Troy, of Kyamba Creek aforesaid, widow of the above-named deceased, intends after the expiration of fourteen days from the publication of this notice to & apply to the said Court, that Letters of Administration of the goods chattels, credits and effects of the said deceased, may be to her as his widow.—Dated this 20th- day- of January AD I860 STENHOUSE & HARDY Proctors for the said Mary Troy 45, Hunter-street, Sydney NSW Govt Gazette, 27 Jan 1860.

The death of his brother: In the Supreme Court of New South Wales. ECCLESIASTICAL JURISDICTION. In the goods of Thomas Troy, late of Kyamba Creek, near Wagga Wagga, in the Colony of New South Wales, grazier, deceased, intestate. NOTICE is hereby given, that on the expiration of this notice, application will be made to this Honorable Court, in its Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, that Letters of Administration of all and singular the goods, chattels, credits, and effects, of the above named deceased, be granted to his brother and nearest of Mr Nicholas Troy,of Kyamba Creek aforesaid, in the said Colony, grazier.—Dated this 21st day of October, A.D.1856. CARLOW ASSIZES. The Assizes of Carlow ended on Wednesday. Only 18 persons were for trial, 10 of whom were capitally convicted, and sentenced to be hanged, viz.—Nicholas and Thomas Troy, and Christopher Dooley, for attacking and firing a house; Andrew and Armstrong Anderson, for highway robbery; Michael, Timothy, and Hugh Finnigan, William Nowlan, and William Walsh  for robbery.
