Aged 28yrs; single man; Roman Catholic; 5'1 3/4"; tailor; read & write. 26/11/1850 Application for permission to marry. 16/12/1850 married Mary Spelman (transported per Lord Auckland). Hobart. ref. 548/1850-37. Children: Mary Ann b. 11/07/1851 Hobart female child b. 16/03/1853 Hobart (? died 03/04/1853 father just listed as T Troy.) John b. 01/03/1854 There are references in the newspapers to a Timothy Troy but there were at least 2 convicts of that name and possible other free settlers.




Timothy Troy was convicted at Limerick on 16/04/1847 for stealing bread and a cloak. 7yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemens Land, arriving 1849.
