The Annotated Indentures for Pierre Tuite (or Pierce Tait) state that he was aged 34 years old' could read and write' Religion Roman Catholic; trade or calling clerk/solider and was a native of Kerry, Ireland. He was a widower with no children. He was convicted of Embezzlement at Graham's Town on Cape of Good Hope (now South Africa) on 22 April 1830. He had no prior convictions. Physical attributes Height 5 feet 8 inches; complexion ruddy; hair sandy and eyes hazel grey. Prisoner number 31-904 and transport number 136. All the other convicts on the Eleanor were transported for the crime of machine breaking except Thomas Davis and George Smets (Smits) who were convicted in the same court at Cape of Good Hope.




Pierre Tuite or Pierce Tait, born Co. Kerry, was convicted of embezzlement. He was a clerk/soldier. Joined the ship 'Eleanor' at the Cape of Good Hope en route to New South Wales, Australia 1831.
