Family connections for Owen (Tunny) are: TUNNEY Lawrence (Tunny/ey) was born in 1762 & became a labourer. He apparantly married. He was tried at Roscommon Ireland, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW or Van Diemens Land (Tasmania) as a convict with a son on 28 7 1817 after a voyage of 5months on PILOT; he was 5'6" fair complexion grey hair hazel eyes. [Some details taken from this Website] Lawrence (Tunny/ey) produced at least 3children: 1.Owen (Tunny) was born in 1788 & became a labourer. He was living at Sligo Ireland when tried at Roscommon in 1816 & arrived in NSW as a convict on 26 7 1817 after a voyage of 4months on CHAPMAN; he was 5'8" dark ruddy complexion black hair hazel eyes. ..[Some details taken from this Website] 2.Patrick (Tunney) was born about 1797 & became a labourer. He was tried at Roscommon Ireland in July 1816, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict with his father on 28 7 1817 after a voyage of 5months on PILOT. He applied to marry Sarah (Andrews) in Sydney, but married Sarah Ann (Pendergast age16 her first marriage) in 1821. On 21 3 1821 he was sent to Newcastle Penal Settlement on ELIZABETH HENRIETTA. In 1834 she unsuccessfuly applied to marry Henry (King age50) free. On 17 11 1834 she, as Fanny Bridget, absconded from James (Crispe) of George St; she was a laundress & still described as 5'1.5" ruddy complexion little freckled black hair hazel eyes.
