Family connections for Sarah (Turner) are: TURNER Sarah (Turner) was born about 1761/71. She was tried for stealing clothes at Lancaster Quarter Sessions Lancashire, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 30 4 1796 after a voyage of 7months on INDISPENSIBLE; she was Protestant. She married Samuel (Garside his second marriage) on 14 8 1796 at St Phillips CofE Sydney & produced a child. She was recorded in 1825 as Sarah (Garsides) Free by Servitude with her son & daughterinlaw at Richmond. She was recorded in 1828 as Sarah (Gearsides) with her son & family at Richmond. She died on 23 11 1834 age73?. [Some details taken from this Website] Samuel (Garside) was born about 1757. He had a first marriage in England. He was tried for theft of woollen cloth from his employer at York Assizes Yorkshire, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 14 2 1792 after a voyage of 8.5months on PITT. He was Free by Servitude when he died on 13 11 1824 age67 at Richmond, father of 1known child, & was buried at St Peters CofE Richmond - he was recorded in 1825 as Samuel (Garsides) deceased. In the colony, Sarah married Samuel Garside (Convict, Pitt, 1792). They married soon after her arrival in 1796 and they had a son, Samuel born in 1798. Samuel (snr) died in 1824, However he is mentioned with Sarah in the 1825 muster:- Garsides, Samuel, free by servitude, Pitt, 1792, 7 years, died at Richmond Turner, Sarah, free by servitude, Indispensible, 1796, 7 years, widow, Richmond Garsides, Samuel, 28, born in the colony, landholder, Richmond Garsides, Sarah, 25, born in the colony. wife of the above
