1832: On arrival in VDL, Thomas TURNER Jnr was single and 17, 5'5" tall with a fair complexion, light brown hair and grey eyes. He had no previous convictions. 1832, 21 July: Thomas Turner Snr died, after having been listed as "sick on arrival" on his Convict Record. 1840, 20 July: Thomas Jnr was granted a Ticket of Leave. 1843: He received a Conditional Pardon (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON31-1-43$init=CON31-1-43p75).

CRIME: Thomas TURNER Jnr, a labourer, was convicted at Litchfield City Sessions on 29 December 1831 for larceny - stealing money in a dwelling house. His father, Thomas Snr, was found guilty for receiving stolen goods (the money stolen by his son). Thomas Jnr was sentenced to death, commuted to transportation for 14 years. He was admitted to the prison hulk Justitia at Woolwich on 24 January 1832 and sent from there on 11 February for transportation. Thomas TURNER Jnr was 17, born 1815, according to the hulk record (see UK, Prison Hulk Registers and Letter Books, 1802-1849).
