1836 - Nicholas URWIN, aged 28, tried 12/03/1836 at Durham with Thomas Smith for the crime of rape. On a "list of 11 convicts emabarked on the ship Norfolk for New South Wales to be kept in labour on the Public Works". He was placed on the hulk ship "Ganymede" on 13/05/1836 at Woolwich and Devonport (Source: Australian Convict Transportation Registers – Other Fleets & Ships, 1791-1868, Class: HO 11 Piece: 10 & Home Office: Convict Prison Hulks: Registers and Letter Books; Class: HO9; Piece: 3) =================================== 1845 - TOL # 45/729 Nicholas URWIN, per ship Norfolk (5), 1837, life term, Native of Durham, born 1811, 5'6" & a half, ruddy complexion, bootmaker, dark grey eyes, delivered 21/12/1845.
