Name; Agnes Valance Trial; City of London Assises Date; 16 September 1795 Sentence; 7 years 1795 - 16 September 1795. The Proceedings of the Old Bailey 423. AGNES VALLANCE was indicted for feloniously stealing, on the 3d of August , a woollen blanket, value 3s. six china cups, value 2s. six china saucers, value 2s. a set of cotton bed furniture, value 9s. for cotton bed curtains, value 10s. a cotton counterpane, value 6s. seven linen pillow cases, value 14s. eleven linen shifts, value 30s. two linen sheets, value 4s. eleven cotton caps, value 6s. seven Gigham bed gowns, value 7s. a cotton handkerchief, value 2s. a cotton quilt, value 4s. ten yards of satin for a petticoat, value 15s. the goods of Elizabeth Rebecca Armstrong , widow ; a gown, value 11s. the goods of Elizabeth Staple , spinster , and eleven muslin frocks, value 3l. the goods of Harriot Armstrong , spinster , in the dwelling house of Elizabeth Armstrong ...... The prisoner called two witnesses who gave her a good character. GUILTY, Of Stealing to the value of 22s. 6d. (Aged 16.) Born abt. 1779 Transported for seven years. Tried by the London Jury before Mr. RECORDER. ** Servant to Elizabeth Rebecca Armstrong 1800 - 24 January 1800. Absolute Pardon 1800 - 24 January 1800. Register of Land Grants "In consequence of the General Good Conduct and Decent Deportment of Agnes Valance and her time being nearly expired do at the recommendation of Mr. Thomas Smyth and serveral of the Offices in this Colony. Absolutely merit the remainder of the time on term which is yet unexpired of the original sentence in order to Transportation passed on the said Agnes Valance on the 16th day one thousand and seven hundred and ninety five"
