Convict Notes
Valentine Soper, for breaking into the laundry of Ellis, the parish of Banning, and therefrom large quantity linen, his property—Guilty. Charles Beaumont for breaking into the laundry of James Ellis, (in company with Valentine Soper) in the parish of Banning, and feloniously stealing therefrom a large quantity linen, his property, Guilty, Death. Kentish Weekly Post, 17 Mar 1820. The following convicts, transported for life, were conveyed from the County Gaol, Maidstone, and put board the Retribution hulk, at on Saturday last, viz. Proctor Tong, Wm. Collins, Richard Page, William Franklin, George Walker, William Mason, Richard King, John Tilley, William Stepney, Elijah Frost, Valentine Soper, Charles Beaumont, George Harrison, Thomas Conway, Joseph Hogbin, Thomas Jackson, James Cavanagh, James Buckley, Patrick Bryan, and Walter Cleary Kentish Weekly Post, 21 April 1820.
