Daniel VAUGHAN was convicted at Middlesex, London on 5 June 1849 for stealing from the person - money. Previous conviction. 10yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'Equestrian' ship, arriving 16 Dec 1852. Aged 24yrs; labourer; Church of England; single man; 5'10"; fresh complexion; black hair; dark eyes. Native Place: Whitechapel, London. Father: Edward Mother: Ellen Sister: Ellen VDL: Pass Holder status upon arrival. Clear Conduct Record. 18 Oct 1853: Ticket of Leave granted. 14 Aug 1855: Conditional Pardon approved. (n.b. on Archive records, his name comes up as "Thomas Vaughan", but record clearly is "Daniel Vaughan. There is also another Daniel Vaughan sent out in 1852 however he was from Limerick, Ireland. Death and family records would be wise to cross check.)
