Henry Vaughan left Hobart on the ship, "The Trusty" on 18 October 1839 and disembarked in Sydney on 29 October 1839.

Henry VAUGHAN was convicted at Middlesex, London 16 Sept 1830 for stealing a coat. Previous convictions. 7yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'Red Rover' arriving 26 March 1831. Single man; aged 20yrs; hatter & tailor. Native place: Islington, London. (A Thomas VAUGHAN also transported on this ship - relative?) Assignments of work in the Colony. Several notes of misconduct and punishments including being sent to Port Arthur Penal Settlement. 21 Jan 1837: Application for Permission to Marry - to Susan COLE (transported per ‘Wm Bryan'). Approved. 26 April 1837: Marriage. Susan COLE, spinster to Henry VAUGHAN, bachelor. Trinity Church, Hobart. (ref. 36/1/3 no. 3712) 1846: A Henry VAUGHAN left Hobart for Victoria, but there was also another convict by that name in the Colony at this time.
