Jeremiah VAUGHAN was convicted at Cork, Ireland on 12 July 1847 for cow stealing. 7 yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'Pestonjee Bomanjee' arriving 1848. Single man; aged 19yrs; labourer. Native Place: Co. Cork, Ireland. VDL: Clear conduct record. 4 March 1850: Died - drowned in the River Ouse, VDL. (ref. Convict records). Inquest - ref. SC 195/1/26 - 2252. Death record, Hamilton district - 35/1/18 no. 36 (although it states his age was 40 yrs)
