Family connections for Samuel (Vaughan) are: VAUGHAN Samuel (Vaughan) was born about 1781 & became a general labourer. He was tried at Warwick Assizes Warwickshire, sentenced to Life & arrived in NSW as a convict on 18 1 1812 after a voyage of 5.5 months on GUILDFORD. He was living with Margaret (Byrne) in 1830.>>> [Some details taken from this Website] Margaret (Byrne) was born in 1809 in Scotland. She arrived in NSW with her mother on 9 1 1814 after a voyage of 4.5months on WANSTEAD. She married William (Waterford his second (2of3) marriage) on 23 11 1829 at St Matthews CofE Windsor. She was living with Samuel (Vaughan) when she died on 7 5 1830 age20 at Richmond & was buried, as (Waterford), at St Peters CofE Richmond. He died on 17 9 1837 age56 & was buried at St Peters CofE Richmond. Margaret (Grey/Gray) was born about 1804 in Dublin Ireland & became a housemaid. She was tried for theft of a coat at Dublin in 1829 &, with 2previous convictions, was sentenced to 7years. She arrived in NSW as a convict on 13 1 1830 after a voyage of 4months on ASIA; she was Catholic. She was Free by Servitude when given permission in October 1837 to marry William (Harti/ell Ticket of Leave), which she did in 1838-perhaps her second marriage. She was issued her Certificate of Freedom no.39/2347 on 26 12 1839.
