Married 15 January 1855 Bridget Kelly at Christ Church, Longford in Tasmania. Bridget was 28 years old. On 20 March 1868 married Sarah Roebuck nee Wakeham at Launceston Wesleyan Church. Sarah was a widow and 37 years old. Her father, Richard Wakeham, was one of the witness. He had travelled on the same transport ship as William to Van Diemen's Land. Tragically Sarah was burnt to death at home on 28 July 1880 aged 50 years. William died in Ringarooma, Tasmania in 1900.
