Richard WADDICA Was transported for stealing 2 pies. He was 16 years old and had previous convictions for stealing a dinner and 2 for misdemeaners, he was from Debworth, Preston. Described as: 4'6 1/4" tall, blue eyes, brown hair, sallow complexion, oval face and small nose. Hulk report: Good, very ignorant and idle, twice imprisoned for vagrancy, Single. COF June 1847. Colonial Times, Hobart, 30/5/1851; Richard Waddica charged with stealing 4 tame ducks, the propoerty of James Norris. Verdict, guilty - to be severally imprisoned and kept to hard labour for 2 years. (At this time he was 26 and was now 5'3" tall).
