INVERARY CIRCUIT COURT - WILFUL FIRERAISING DAVID WALLACE, farmer, and DAVID MURRAY, mason, were indicted for the crime of wilful fireraising. Lord Cockburn summed up, after which the jury brought in a verdict, unanimously finding Wallace guildty as libelled, and the charge against Murray not proven. Wallace was sentenced to transportation for twenty years, and Murray dismissed from the bar.
