Passengers — Fourteen free females, viz. Mary Manning, Martha Morron, Margaret Mahon, Margaret Sheedy, Mary Ann Nixon alias Welsh, Catherine Kiernan, Mary Cassock, Catherine Stanton, Johanna Neville, Mary Lyons alias Hynes, Maria Moran, Catherine O'Donnel, Margaret Kennedy, and Mary Sullivan, and twenty-six children; also twenty-three children belonging to the prisoners. Date. 1826, June 6. 1 individual petition (Caroline Wallace, the prisoner's wife [detailed notes of her genealogy] on behalf of John Wallace, small dealer from Dublin, convicted in Aberdeen, for uttering forged notes. Grounds for clemency: good behaviour during his confinement, young man, has wife and four children who are now destitute, has respectable parents, had moral education, first offence, he is a good husband and he was visiting Scotland on business, was ignorant of Scottish notes and was unaware they were forged. Initial sentence: 14 years transportation, held on board Justitia hulk at Woolwich. AK 14. Annotated: 'refused'.
