Family connections for Elizabeth (Walpole) are: WALPOLE Elizabeth (Walpole) was born about 1778. She was tried at Westmeath Ireland, sentenced to Life & arrived in NSW as a convict on 11 2 1796 after a voyage of 6months on MARQUIS CORNWALLIS. She was issued her Absolute Pardon by 1811.>>> [Some details taken from this Website] Samuel (Porter) was born about 1764 in Ireland & became a weaver. He enlisted in NSW Corps at Savoy London on 15 8 1792 as a sergeant; he was 5.56'. He arrived in NSW as a soldier on 7 8 1793 after a voyage of 6months on BODDINGTONS. He was raised to Corporal in 1794. He had a first relationship with Mary (Giles her first relationship) in 1795-marriage not shown in Smees records. In 1798 he was detached to (Rowley)s company as sergeant. He was detached to Johnston)s company in 1801 as Corporal. He became sergeant again on 25 7 1808 & in that year was detached to (Savory)s company. In 1809 he was detached to (Brabyn)s company then 4Company. He was transfered to Veterans Company on 24 4 1810. Ireland on 29 2 1808, sentenced to 7years, held for a time on hulk LAUREL at Portsmouth Hampshire & arrived in NSW as a convict on 16 10 1810 after a voyage of 5.5months on INDIAN. He was sent to Newcastle on 10 12 1810 on HMS LADY NELSON, where instructions had been issued that he receive no harsh punishment. He was an emancipist in 1819 (Certificate of Freedom no.10/1651). In 1821 he was working on farms at Field of Mars. He was living in the county of Cumberland when he declared his Certificate of Freedom lost in 1824 & was issued Certificate of Freedom no.36/2256 on 17 6 1824.
