25/7/1857 Bathurst Free Press, NSW:
Another inquest was held yesterday at the Red Lion Inn, Lochinvar, by Dr. M’Cartney touching the death of Catherine Cordwell.
The deceased was an old woman, nearly seventy years of age, and very infirm.
For the last two months she had been of unsound mind, and unable to take care of herself.  On Thursday last, as Fuller was passing by a water-hole near Hardy’s stockyard, he saw the body of a female floating, and on inspection recognised it as that of the deceased.  Mrs Cordwell was of sober habits.  The medical evidence certified that death had been caused by drowning, and a verdict to that effect was recorded. (NSW BDM record her parents as Patrick and Julia).
