Mary Ann Walters was 19 when indicted 3 times on the same day at the Old Bailey. 1st - Stealing 1 umbrella 10s., from her mistress Eliza Eaton - Acquitted. 2nd - Stealing a watch, 5 rings, a silver fruit knife, a necklace etc., all the goods of Eliza Eaton. Mary worked for Eliza Eaton's mother in a public-House as a servant - Not Guilty. 3rd - Again for the umbrella which charge was now brought by the actual owner of the umbrella Thomas Bamford - Guilty 7 years transportation. February 1832: Permission to marry George Simcox (Asia 1) now free aged 36, Sydney. March 1832: Permission to marry John Cooke (Adamant 1821) aged 28 now free, Sydney. She married John Cooke. 30/12/1835: COF; Wife of John Cooke per (Adamant 1821).
