HAMILTON: this vessel has brought 6 male prisoners from India, destined for Port Jackson; to which place it is expected she will sail to-morrow. Hobart Town Gazette, 24 May 1817. Ship News. On Thursday arrived from Calcutta, via Derwent, the ship Mary, Captain Ormon, with a various cargo. -Passengers from Calcutta, Captain Faithfull and Lieutenant Hamilton:-The Mary sailed from Calcutta the 23d of February, and left the Pilot the 1st of March. The understated Capital Convicts from the last Assizes, are finally sentenced as follows ; viz. William Wapshott, William Earles, James Fletcher, Joseph Miller, for burglary.—For Life. Windsor and Eton Express, 20 May 1821.




4/3/1821 Windsor and Eton Express Berkshire, England: William Wapshott for stealing in a dwelling-house. 30/6/1830: TOL Patricks Plains 31/1/1831: Permission to marry Catherine Byrne (Asia 1830) she was 30 and on bond - he was 35 and had a TOL. 1831: Married at St. John's, Parramatta. Listed as Wapshot. 31/12/1836: CP 28/4/1840: Catherine Walshot (Wapshott) (nee Byrne) admitted to Newcastle gaol from Singleton charged with causing the death of Catherine Phillips by maliciously throwing her in the fire. Sent for trial. Sentenced to three years' imprisonment in the female factory at Parramatta, and to be kept to hard labour.
