Family connections for Rosetta (Warburton) are: WARBURTON Rosetta (Warburton) was born about 1779/83. She was tried at Lancaster Quarter Sessions on 1 5 1797, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 10 7 1798 after a voyage of 6months on BRITANNIA. She had a first relationship (1of3) with Adam (Clink/Crank/Cross).>>> [Some details taken from this Website] Adam (Clink/Crank/Cross) arrived free in 1798 on HUNTER. He settled near Bathurst Reach Upper Hawkesbury. On 4 9 1822 he was assaulted & robbed by 3convicts who had escaped Port Macquarie prison & took salt pork, meal, sugar, tea, clothing, knives, a compass and the shoes off his feet. Rosetta (Warburton) & Adam (Clink/Crank/Cross) produced perhaps 2children: 1.Eleanor (Clink/Crank/Cross) was born on 16 7 1799 & baptised on 8 6 1800 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. 1a.Noted a Henry (Crank) is recorded as born in 1801-no parents mentioned. .. >>>Rosetta (Warburton) had a second (2of3) relationship with [Hugh (Owens) produced 7children & later married him . She, married Hugh (Owens stated age32) on 14 1 1810 (both emancipists) at St Johns CofE Parramatta.>>> [Hugh (Owens) was born about 1767. He was tried for murder of Robert (Taylor) at Armagh co. Ireland in 1795, sentenced to be hanged respited to Life & arrived in NSW as a convict on 11 2 1796 after a voyage of 6months on MARQUIS CORNWALLIS; he was 5'8" swarthy complexion dark brown hair grey eyes thin visage. In 1800 he was employed by James (Williamson), Commissary. In May 1801 he joined NSW Corps. He was a soldier with (McArthur)s company in 1804. On 25 3 1810 he transferred to 73rd Regiment as a private, continuing to 1814; he served in Parramatta from 1810-11. He transferred to Invalid Company on 25 Feb 1814. In 1818 he transferred to 48th Regiment. In 1819 he worked at supplying 30,000 wooden shingles to John (McArthur). In 1823 he may have received a 'conditioned' grant of 100acres at Auburn near Parramatta, which he leased in 1826 to James (Chisholm)-part of the payment going to Hugh’s son James. On 3 5 1825 he was to receive grants of 300acres; & in that year he was recorded as “publican or pensioner” at Parramatta. In 1828 he (as H LorH D) was recorded with Conditional Pardon with his wife & 2sons on 227acres at Wilberforce. In 1833 he was living at Smith Street Parramatta. He died in 1835 age68 at Wilberforce. She died in 1851 age72 as Rosetta (Dawes) at Camperdown Newtown NSW mother of perhaps 9children. Samuel (Daw/e) son of Samuel (Daw) & Ann (Biggin) was born at Castle Cory Somerset about 1772 & became a blacksmith. He married firstly Harriet (Baunton) on 17 4 1798 at St Thomas a Beckett South Cadbury Somerset & produced 5children. In 1823 he was employed by John (McHenry) at Penrith at least until 1825. He was recorded in 1824 at Evan. On 21 2 1825 he was granted land. On 31 5 1825 he was assigned to Bench of Magistrates at Penrith. He died in 1845 age73 father of 5known children. Ancestry.com.au. Rosetta also "free" was a convict as well, who had been transported on the ship Britannia in 1798. She was 24 years old at the time she was convicted in Lancaster, crime unknown, but her trial was May 1, 1797 and she was sentenced to 7 years as well. She arrived in New South Wales on July 18, 1798.
