Tried at Gloucester Quarter Session on 3 March 1835. Described as Single: Could read and write: Religion Protestant; Native of Gloucester: Trade Farm Boy: Had a prior conviction and served 1 month; Height 5 feet 1 1/2 inches: Complexion Ruddy freckled: Hair brown and Light Hazel Eyes. Prison number 36/429.

Assigned to Mr James Wright at Lanyon Station near Queanbeyan now the southern part of Canberra, ACT. Absconded with William Dawkins (Lady Nugent); Joseph Finnegan (Hero) and Mr George King (Hive) in 1839. Captured and transferred from Queanbeyan to Campbell Town and then Sydney. Admitted to Sydney on 28 January 1840. Tried in January/February 1840. Found Guilty of being at large with fire arms. Sentenced to Penal Settlement for Life. Transported to Norfolk Island on 28 February 1840. Particulars recorded in entrance book as being of stout build; 5ft 2 inches in height; Fresh complexion; Brown hair and grey eyes. Could not read correctly native place.
