Robert Ward was transported for ‘assault and robbery on William Denniston’. There was a Petition for Clemency made by his parents, Charles and Sarah Ward, on the grounds of there being ‘no injury was inflicted, jury recommendation of mercy. Initial sentence: execution 18 January 1833. Robert's occupation was a 'Glass blower'. 1844: TOL Paterson 8/1/1848: Newcastle gaol: TOL holder, Occupation Sawyer. Admitted to Newcastle gaol from Paterson. To be sent to the treadmill in Sydney. 29/1/1848: TOL cancelled – Drunkenness and general bad conduct – Paterson Bench. 1850: TOL
