John Warne, for stealing 6 pecks of malt from Mr. Pettitt, of Winston, was sentenced to 7 years’ transportation. He appeared a most desperate character, actually striking one witness a violent blow, whilst giving his testimony, and impudently thanking the Court when sentenced.
Bury and Norwich Post, 24 Oct 1821.
