Link above verifies these details: Convicted at Liverpool on 11/08/1849 for Burglary and Stealing silver spoons,money & clothes. 7yr sentence. Previous offence for stealing. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Pestonjee Bomanjee' arriving 31/07/1852. Aged 23yrs; married man, 1 child; 5'10 1/4";umbrella maker; Protestant; can read & write. Native place - Lincoln Father -Thomas, at Manchester. Wife - Catherine Brothers - George, James, Thomas, John & Richard Sister - Ann Probation on arrival of 18mths, less 5 mths. 20/01/53: Drunk. 7 days solitary. 11/01/53: Ticket of Leave 15/07/54: Misconduct in being in a public place instead of Divine Service. Fined 10s. 12/09/54: Conditional Pardon approved. 31/07/57: Certificate of Freedom. Hobart. Inquest on a body found at Bothwell, Tasmania on 07/07/1866. Deemed to be Charles and to have died of natural causes.

Charles was 5'10¼" tall, dark brown hair and whiskers, grey eyes, scar upper lip right side, scar forefinger left hand, can read and write a little. Charles was married with 1 child, his father was Thomas, brothers: George, James, Thomas, John, Richard, and 1 sister Ann. 12/7/1854: CP 31/7/1857: Free Certificate, Hobart. 4/7/1866: Charles died at Bothwell, Tasmania. An Inquest was held on 7/7/1866 and found that Charles had died of natural causes - disease of the heart. Found no marriage for Charles in Tasmania.
