Marion Wells wrote of Ann Waters 14th December 2017: Ann Waters (Waterhouse) married John Fuller (convict) on Jan 18 1819 at St John’s Church, Cypress St., Launceston, Tasmania. She was granted a Free Pardon on Oct 7 1842. They were residing at their residence Brisbane Street, Launceston, where they both died. Note: Ann Waters (under name "Waterhouse" was transported on the "Maria" and is NOT the Ann Waters transported on the "Sydney Cove".

Baptised on 26 Aug 1798 in Christchurch, Macclesfield, Cheshire, England. She stole a teaspoon & sugar and was tried with a fellow servant. Ann WATERHOUSE (aka WATERS) was tried for theft at Chester Sessions 27-Aug-1817 and sentenced for life. She was transported on the MARIA sailing from Deal 15-May-1818 & arriving Sydney 17-Sep-1818. She was immediately transferred to Van Diemens Land on the Elizabeth Henrietta arriving at Port Dalrymple on 11 Oct 1818. Ann married John Fuller at St.Johns, Launceston 18-Jan-1819. She became pregnant whilst in custody, about the time she left Deal, and gave birth to a boy William Edward Stanhope Fuller on 11 Feb 1819 in Launceston. She is mentioned in Philip Tardif's book "Notorius Strumpets and Dangerous Girls". On 18 July 1840 she was granted free pardon.
