Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the ship 'Duchess of Northumberland' arriving 21 April 1853. Single woman; aged 22 yrs; laundress; 5'1 1/4"; Presbyterian religion; can read & write. Native place of birth: Leith, Scotland. Father: John (ref. Convict indent record) Brothers: William & Darby (ref. Convict indent record) Work services in the Colony. 1853: Absent - 4 mths hard labour. 1854: Absent - 2 mths hard labour. 1855: Application for permission to marry - to James Yule (free or free by servitude). Approved. 4 May 1855: Marriage to James Youle (ref. 37/1/14 no. 833) registration and notation in Conduct Record book - note change in spelling of surname of James Youle) at the home of M McKelly (McKiely), Launceston, VDL, according to rites of the Church of Scotland. James - bachelor, full age. Agnes - widow, full age. Witnesses - Patrick & Mary Ann Giblin. 4 May 1856: birth of female child, at Launceston. Father - James Youl, baker, Balfour St. Launceston.
