Convict Notes
Andrew Silas Waters was not a pseudonym. He was born on 10 Jan 1812 in London, the twin son of William Waters and his wife Cecelia Bridget Milton. Andrew was baptised along with his twin, Edward Paul at St George Hanover Square, Westminster on 3 June 1812.
A biography "The Life of Andrew Silas Waters c1806 to 1870" was written by R.G.(Bob)Byfield in 1989. National Library of Australia ISBN 0 646084 11 9 Andrew Waters is certainly a pseudonym adopted to protect the family in England. Byfield's opinion is that he was John Watkins christened on 3 January 1814, son of George Nowell and Mary Watkins. G N Watkins was a Minister of Religion. A pdf copy of this document is available along with a family tree extending to 4th or 5th generation.
