EXTRACT FROM NEWCASTLE COURANT mAR 13 1845 JAMES WATSON, aged 18, a sailor pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing from his ship several articles of clothing , the property of his master and the mate of the vesse; and was sentenced to be transported for seven years, he having also been formerly convicted.
