Carol Axton-Thompson on 9th December, 2012 wrote: SECOND CONVICTION: John Watson was transported to NSW on the ‘Captain Cook’in 1832. “Staid with Mr. Blaxland for 11yrs then returned to Middlex, England in 1842 with 200 pounds”. Convicted a second time at Wicklow on 26/02/1844 for stealing clothes. 7 yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemens Land on the ‘Cadet’ 1844. 1844: Convict no. 73984 VDL. 5’5”; 50yrs of age; reads; married, 3 children; Protestant; labourer. Wife - Mary Brother - Harry, at Cork Sister - Ann, at Dublin Station Gang: Impression Bay, VDL. Died at Impression Bay 09/07/1848. " I went out to sydney in captain cook; I staid with mr. blaxland 11 yrs, went home in the middlesex in 1842; I had about 200 pounds with me when I went home".
