Family connections for John (Watson) are: WATSON John (Watson) was born in 1761 at Foots Cray Kent & became a hawker. He was tried at York Assizes Yorkshire in July 1792, sentenced to Life & arrived in NSW as a convict on 2 6 1797 after a voyage of 6months on GANGES. He married Esther (Hacket) on 6 3 1798 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. He was recorded in 1806 at Parramatta, in 1811, in 1814 on stores as overseer at factory & in 1828 as pensioner at Benevolent Asylum. He died on 28 8 1852 age about91. [These details taken from this Website] Esther (Hacker/tt) was born about 1765 & became a servant to William (Prescott). She was tried for stealing, on 16 4 1795, calico breeches etc of William (Prescott) probably at Old Bailey, sentenced to 7years, held at Middlesex Gaol Delivery & arrived in NSW as a convict on 30 4 1796 after a voyage of 7months. She was issued her Ticket of Leave in 1802. She died on 4 5 1806 age41. John can be Located in several of the Muster lists: Baxter, Carol; General Musters of New South Wales: 1806: [Ref A4711] John Watson, Ganges, Prisoner, Government Parramatta. 1811: [Ref 6093] Watson, John, Ganges, Tried Jul 1792, York, Life. (PRO n2130). 1814: [Ref 2432} JOhn Watson, Ganges, On Stores. Overseer at the Factory.

In the colony, John married Esther Hacker (Convict, Indispensible, 1796), March 6th 1798, at Sydney. The couple had 3 children between 1798 and 1801. Mary 1798, Margaret 1799 and John 1801.
