Robert WATSON was convicted at Edinburgh on 1 Dec 1823 for housebreaking. Life sentence. Gaol Report: "an old offender". Hulk Report: "orderly". Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania)per the ship 'Lady East' arriving 1825. Single man; 5'11" height; lathe splitter; Protestant; brown hair; light blue eyes; aged 24yrs. Mother - Jane Watson, lives with my brother (a lathe splitter) at Rosebank, Edinburgh. Assignments in the Colony of VDL. 1833: at New Norfolk Clear Conduct sheet. Conditional Pardon granted 21 Nov 1836, no. 1235.
