On Monday morning, the following convicts left the City Gaol, York, order to be delivered on board the hulk, lying at Sheerness : —Henry Staring Harry, transported for life; John Wood, alias Charlton, alias Shoemaker Jack; John Wilson, alias King Jack; and William Webb, transported for fourteen years: the above four are for the robbery of the Stamp Office.—Robert Harbut, for highway robbery, for life; John Nelson, for receiving stolen goods, for fourteen years; Wm. Sledman, for stealing linen from the George tun, in York, for seven years ; Thomas Greenbank, for a street robbery, for seven years.— Hull Packet, 2 Dec 1817.
