Memorial for land at Bung Bung: To Frederick Goulburn, Esquire, Colonial Secretary. Sir I most respectfully solicit (in behalf of myself and my son, John Larkham) the favor of a tract of land in the new country, as a grazing run for our cattle, amounting to about sixty head. I beg leave to state that I am a widow, 28 years resident in the colony, and have never had a grant from the Crown. My son has a farm of 60 acres, but its situation and limited extent render it inadequate to the maintenance of our increasing herd. The spot we desire to be indulged with, by your kind favor, is at a considerable distance from “Bung Bung”, and, I believe, to the southward of it. I beg leave to remain most respectfully, Sir, Your obedient and humble servant, Mary Larkham Kent Street Sydney, 22 April 1824.
