George Weller (snr) was convicted at Sussex on 05/07/1838 for sheep stealing. Life Sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Gilmore' arriving 1838. Son George Weller also transported on this same ship - for pig stealing, 7yr sentence. This George however died at hospital, Hobart in 1839. Married, 10 children. Native place - Sussex. Aged 47yrs. 5'6".
