West Kent Guardian London, England 7 Oct 1843 County News John Weller, stealing one shovel and six brushes, at St. Mary Cray. John Weller (the younger) was listed as 33 years old on arrival. Place of Birth. St. Mary Cray, Kent. John Weller was literate, married with 1 child, 5'6ΒΌ" tall, ruddy complexion, brown hair, red whiskers, hazel eyes, small scar on forfinger right hand, arms slightly freckled, small scar on right eyebrow. 5/11/1850: TOL 24/5/1853:CP Dec. 1858: Worked for Mr. C. Pitstock as a bullock driver. Accused of arson, but was acquitted. 24/6/1878: John Weller died at the New Town Charitable Institution, aged 69. Buried at the Cornelian Bay Cemetery, Hobart.
