From Hanborough, near Freeland Oxfordshire. His initial sentence on Maria Islands, VDL. Completed his sentence in March 1851, boarded the steamer "Shamrock" 19th March to Port Phillip. Changed his name & history to a fictitious alias Charles Frederick Trinder & married Mary Halls in 1853 she per “Monteagie” from Deptford 1853. He went to Prison under his alias in 1864 in Melbourne for perjury. In 1866 family moved to Birts Hill Croydon where Charles took an Aboriginal mistress & fathered a likely another 5 children.--All children carried surname Trinder.
