Susan West was convicted at Longford, Ireland on 02/07/1850 for Vagrancy. 7 yr sentence. Previously convicted for this offence 20 times. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Blackfrair' arriving 29/05/1851. Gaol report - troublesome. Ship Surgeon's Report: good. Housemaid; 4'10 1/4"; 23 yrs; Protestant; dark complexion; brown hair; Hazel eyes; single; native place - Co. Leitrim. Assignments of service in Colony. Ticket of Leave 18/10/1853 Conditional Pardon 13/03/1855 Married William Chandler 23/08/1855 Hobart district (ref. 337/1855-37). William recorded as free person, although he may have been transported as there were several sent here.
