George Weston was convicted at CCC, London on 21/10/1844 for stealing - from a dwelling house. 15yr sentence. Gaol report: previously convicted and given a 7yr transportation sentence of which 4yrs served at Chatham. Transported to Norfolk Island (off east coast of New South Wales, Australia) and later transferred to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania). Parents live at Soho, London. Single man, Protestant, can read & write, upholsterer, aged 26yrs. Native Place of birth: Kensington, Surrey. Station Gang: Norfolk Island Recommended to the Queen for a Ticket of Leave for meritorious conduct on Norfolk Island. 10/04/1846. Returned to class. due to regulations. Off Norfolk Island to VDL per Pestongee Bomangee May 1847 Ticket of Leave 23/11/1847 Conditional Pardon 05/02/1850
