George Whale and Catherine Leyell née Quinn had four children Margaret, George, Thomas and David.




George Whale was the son of David Whale a Cattle Dealer and Patience Bullock.Born in 1810 in Whiltshire England. When convicted George was 21years of age and the father of one child. George Whale was granted a Ticket of Leave on 19th May 1838 recommended to remain in the Bathurst District this was altered to the Mudgee district on 24th August 1840. George received his certificate of freedom on 27th March 1845.On 25 December 1847 George Whale a widower Married Catherine Leyell a widow and Irish immigrant from Carrick on Sure at St John the Baptist Church Mudgee producing three children George,David and Margaret.George became a Hotelkeeper in Goolma NSW and on his death 25th December 1890 was aged 80years.
