The Convict Indenture states that Esther Wheelhan was 30 years old. She could not read or write; religion Roman Catholic; status single with one daughter and a native of County Kildare. She was a country servant. Esther was convicted of stealing turkeys at County Kildare on 23 March 1837 and sentenced to 7 years. She had one prior convictions and served 6 months. Physical attributes: Height 4 feet 11 3/4 inches; complexion sallow and freckled; hair dark brown and eyes bright chestnut. Transport number 33. Prisoner number 33-38. Received Certificate of Freedom in 1845 (45/102).
