The 1825 Journey. The ship Mariner, Captain Fotherley, arrived from Ireland with female prisoners, on Sunday evening. She left the Cove of Cork, the 12th of March, and brings 112 female prisoners, having lost only one on the passage. A few passengers also came per this opportunity. John Whelan was next indicted for stealing three sheep, the property of several persons, at Tullagreen, on the 3d of June. The sheep were stolen from the land of the prosecutor’s, and found afterwards in the possession of Peter Began, butcher, who had bought them from the prisoner, tor twenty-one shillings— Guilty —To be transported for life. Cork Constitution, 3 Aug 1826.
