John's wife, Ann, followed as an assisted passenger, 6 years later. Before arrival in Australia, John and Ann had 2 daughters, who had passed away in England. They had 5 children in Australia, all born in and around the Wollongong area of N.S.W. When John first arrived in N.S.W. he was assigned to Thos. Watson of Watson's Bay, working as a servant. He recieved his ticket of leave early 1840's. He was working at St Lukes Church, Dapto as a Sexton, at the time of his death, he is buried in the graveyard at the back of the church, however no headstone was laid and records were burnt in a fire, so the exact place of his grave is not known. After John's death, his wife, Ann went to live in the Cobargo area where she was working as a Dairywoman, on a property called, "Wilgoa. She died at that property and is buried in the Cobargo Cemetry. One of her sons, William, is buried behind her, he was the original licencee of the Horshoe bay hotel at Bermagui.
