The Clerk the Crown was then proceeding to read the indictment short, when he was called upon by the prisoner's Counsel to read it in full, winch was immediately complied with ; we shall, however, give it briefly thus -. George White—You stand indicted that you being an evil disposed person, and not having the fear of God before your eyes, on the 16th day of last, in the 57th year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the King, had in your possession a forged die for the sum four shillings, purporting to die of the Stamp Office, in in the City of Dublin, against the Statute. There were two other similar counts, which, in the 2d, laid it to be a stamp instead a die; the count, a mark instead of either die or stamp; there were three other counts laying the impressions to be on paper instead of parchments. ... Per "Guildford", 1818. 1823 Apr 18-Aug 8 On list of prisoners assigned (Fiche 3291; 4/4570D pp.130, 131) -------------------------------------------------- It is very likely that George Ward continued to practice as a dentist in Sydney. Advertisements appear from July 1818, and continue until Nov 1828. --------------------------------------------------- What we learn for Pleasure in Prosperity, we must turn to Profit in Adversity. MR. George White, M. I. A. Dentist and Physician, respectfully offers his Services to the Gentry and Public at large of Sydney, wishing to inculcate in their minds the necessity of an early attention to the teeth of their children. The neglect of removing teeth of an extraneous growth disarranges the entire set, and renders them unhappy through life. To Adults he recommends immediate application to get their teeth cleaned from that calcareous matter that does indescribable mischief. Mr. W. makes from one tooth to an entire set, equal to Nature; whereby masticulation and articulation are effected with improved clearness.- A certain malady cured with certainty, secrecy, & expedition. The Poor attended to from ten until eleven o'clock each day (Sunday excepted). Tooth Powder of a superior quality.- Specimens of teeth may be seen at his residence in Phillip-street, Sydney. GEORGE WHITE, while he expresses his grateful acknowledgements for the liberal support be has hitherto experienced, begs to assure the Gentry of Australia, that no exertion of his shall be spared in order to merit a continuance of their favours. G. White confines himself exclusively to the business of his profession.
