Surgeon’s Journal, Atlas 1819. ADM 101/6/2/1 1819 Folio 3: 23 June 1819; Several prisoners overheard planning to take the ship, 2 handcuffed for being out of bed. At 10 am Alexander L Hayes, Edward Mills and Jonathan White were received a dozen lashes each for having broken through the prison into the hospital and having two steel saws in their possession.
